For months, perfumer Euan McCall pursued a phantom. A bouquet of aromas so fleeting it evaded any physical source captivated him. He sensed it in the air, in taste, in textiles, in drinks, even in the people around him – always on the verge of capturing it, only for it to slip away again.

One day, the phantom scent vanished. Driven by the longing to preserve it, McCall gave it shape – a perfume shimmering like liquid obsidian, cool as metal, its surface raw yet flowing, at once diffusive and ethereal.
