MONOLITH by Jorum Studio is not a conventional fragrance – it is a bold artistic statement in scent. Released as part of the Time Collection and strictly limited to 180 bottles worldwide, MONOLITH is a rare and uncompromising Extrait de Parfum. The composition is based on Psychoterratica III, an avant-garde release from 2020 that sold out within weeks. Due to ongoing demand, the formula was revisited and reinterpreted in 2024 – now as MONOLITH. A permanent release is highly unlikely, not only because of its challenging nature, but due to the complexity and cost of production.

MONOLITH defies the conventions of traditional perfumery. It does not unfold gently or follow a classic pyramid – instead, it appears all at once, dense and sculptural, like a monolith in scent. From the very first moment, it delivers a powerful smoky peat note that dominates the opening. This is carried by accords of oud, cade and labdanum, creating a dark, resinous atmosphere. As the scent begins to shift, spicy notes of juniper, anise, black pepper and clary sage begin to emerge, adding complexity and motion.

The journey continues with elemi resin, which lends a citrusy, sacred sharpness and pushes the scent into a mystical, ritualistic realm. Frankincense, cardamom and myrrh amplify this dimension, evoking imagery of ancient temples, sacred ceremonies and dense clouds of aromatic smoke. The base of the composition is grounded in oakmoss and castoreum, which bring structure, warmth and a quiet sweetness that balances the composition without softening its presence.

MONOLITH is a fragrance that wears close to the skin and lingers with quiet power. It is earthy, smoky, resinous and woody – with faint green undertones.
