Fischersund NO. 101 Eau de Parfum is not just a fragrance – it is a memory, a landscape, a sound. Inspired by Reykjavík’s overgrown backyards and Iceland’s luminous summer days, it captures the fleeting atmosphere of a season that never truly ends under the midnight sun, yet suddenly vanishes into winter’s silence.

The composition was created by Jón Þór “Jónsi” Birgisson, singer of the legendary band Sigur Rós, who founded the Reykjavik perfume house Fischersund together with his siblings. Known for hand-crafted and poetic niche perfumes, Fischersund blends music, nature, and art into olfactory experiences of rare authenticity.

A northern garden

NO. 101 opens with herbal clarity, evoking wild chervil, freshly dug earth, and crushed sorrel. The tart sweetness of blackcurrants adds depth, while damp wood and a whisper of smoke suggest the presence of a garden that someone has just left behind. It is green, fresh, and slightly raw – an atmospheric fragrance that lingers quietly yet persistently on the skin.

This is a perfume of subtle power: close to the skin, never intrusive, yet radiant in its own quiet way. It feels like a fragment of poetry made scent – intimate, calm, and profoundly evocative.

NO. 101 is accompanied by the specially composed song Bakgarðar (“Backyards”) by Jónsi, Sin Fang, and Kjartan Holm. This makes No. 101 a uniquely multisensory experience, both modern and poetic.

Each bottle is wrapped in a cotton bandana illustrated by Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir, whose hand-drawn motifs reflect the fragrance’s olfactory landscape. Packaging and scent together form a holistic artwork that embodies the house’s artistic vision.
