Can a fragrance change the world? For Manos Gerakinis, it was at least his own life that changed through the creation of a singular perfume. To mark the beginning of a new chapter, Manos created a bespoke fragrance for himself—powerful, charismatic, floral, spicy, woody, and amber-toned. Originally intended solely for personal use, the overwhelming positive feedback sparked the idea of something bigger. Founded in 2014, Manos Gerakinis Parfums became the first Greek niche house for luxury perfumes. That personal fragrance was later released as Sillage Royal – not only the origin of the brand, but still its iconic signature scent today.
Manos Gerakinis – Founder and Creative Visionary
At the heart of the brand is Manos himself—as the creative force and conceptual author behind each fragrance. He develops the olfactory concepts, often inspired by ancient symbols, philosophical ideas, or evocative imagery, and works closely with renowned perfumers such as Chris Maurice, Miguel Matos, and Pierre Guéros.
Raised in Kavala, Greece, with family roots in Istanbul, childhood memories of harvesting roses, saffron, tobacco, labdanum, and honey shaped his personal fragrance language just as much as his passion for painting, music, and philosophy. His years in London and his career in the luxury industry cultivated a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, style, and diversity—elements that define his eclectic approach to perfumery.
Natural raw materials such as rose, oud, immortelle, or labdanum are not just decorative notes to Manos Gerakinis; they are carriers of meaning.
