In the Ahtna language of South Alaska, C’I’AAN means “new moon.” It is the moment when the sky turns dark, only to make way for new light – a symbol of beginnings, renewal, and nature’s eternal balance. This fragrance is inspired by Alaska’s pristine wilderness, where icy fjords meet dense forests and the northern lights dance across the horizon. C’I’AAN feels like a quiet breath in the face of vastness: clear, powerful, mysterious, and full of promise.

Forests, Fjords, and the Play of Elements

The opening of C’I’AAN is fresh, spicy, and green: CO₂-extracted juniper reveals its authentic, resinous depth, lifted by the cool clarity of green mint and the crisp accents of fir. At the heart, a fruity flash of apple meets the woody warmth of cedar, a contrast between brightness and depth. The base glows with golden amber, wrapping the composition in warmth and sensual longevity. The result is an olfactory landscape that captures Alaska’s duality – icy freshness and earthy warmth, Arctic silence and forest strength, darkness and light.

C’I’AAN was created in 2016 in collaboration with perfumer Thomas Siedel, whose expertise brought balance and nuance to the composition. Founded in 2015 in Hudson, New York, by Christopher Draghi and Robert Dobay, Source Adage approaches fragrance as storytelling: each scent a landscape, a memory, a journey. In 2024, the house moved its creative studio to Tuscany, under the vision Born in New York. reMade in Italy. Here, gender-neutral perfumes of uncompromising quality are handcrafted, inspired by places and cultures, beyond fleeting trends. C’I’AAN embodies this philosophy – an Eau de Parfum that translates Alaska’s arctic wilderness into a timeless, wearable work of art.

Before the two founders discovered their passion for fragrances and SOURCE ADAGE They worked for many years as creative directors and brand designers.
