Behind the Fragrance
Parfums MDCI LA BELLE HÉLÈNE Eau de Parfum
A gourmand floral ode to elegance, memory and seduction
With LA BELLE HÉLÈNE, Parfums MDCI transforms the beloved French dessert "Poire Belle Hélène" into a fragrant daydream: a composition that balances feminine playfulness with refined floral gourmandise. At its heart is Osmanthus, a radiant flower known for its fruity-floral profile, evoking notes of apricot, honey, peach, and a soft touch of leather. Master perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour crafts this scent as a poetic interplay between sweetness and softness – between dessert and desire, memory and modernity.
From juicy pear and creamy Osmanthus to a velvety, ambered finish
LA BELLE HÉLÈNE opens with a luminous, juicy pear, firm and green, accompanied by zesty mandarin, bright aldehydes, and the fresh facet of apricot in early bloom. As the scent unfolds, Osmanthus takes centre stage – rich and nuanced, oscillating between floral softness and leathery warmth. The heart reveals a generous bouquet of iris, rose, ylang-ylang, lime blossom, hawthorn, plum and mirabelle, all delicately powdered and intricately layered. The base is a warm and long-lasting blend of myrrh, vetiver, patchouli, cedarwood, amber, oakmoss, white musk, sandalwood, and a fine trace of liquorice, settling on a chypre-like cushion of modern sensuality.
This fragrance is like a spoonful of artfully plated memory – layered, indulgent, and gently captivating. Discover LA BELLE HÉLÈNE at scent amor – and wear the taste of beauty on your skin.
Bertrand Duchaufour – a poetic architect of fragrance
Bertrand Duchaufour, the nose behind this fragrant confection, is one of the most respected and artistic perfumers of our time. Trained in Grasse and seasoned at Florasynth and Symrise, he went on to become the in-house perfumer for L’Artisan Parfumeur before launching his independent studio in 2007. Known for his textured and story-driven approach, Duchaufour combines a love of classical composition with a painter’s sense of atmosphere and emotion. With LA BELLE HÉLÈNE, he invites you into a delicate, sensual world where pear becomes memory and Osmanthus becomes poetry.
