Inside the Scent
Mendittorosa ITHAKA Eau de Parfum
The journey is the true destination
Mendittorosa ITHAKA Eau de Parfum is a poetic unisex niche fragrance about departure, experience and the realization that it is not the destination itself, but the journey that shapes us. ITHAKA is inspired by the famous poem Ithaka by Greek poet Constantine P. Cavafy, first published in 1911. Its message forms the emotional foundation of the fragrance: do not rush the journey, remain open to experience, and travel with curiosity, knowledge and all senses awake.
Mendittorosa ITHAKA is the first creation in the Versi Collection, an olfactory trilogy exploring the relationship between poetry and perfumery. The composition combines radiant bergamot with watery magnolia and incense before patchouli, labdanum, cedarwood, cypriol and benzoin create a warmer, earthier and more resinous depth. It is a fragrance suspended between light and shadow, sea and land, movement and arrival.
Bergamot as a luminous starting point
The opening of Mendittorosa ITHAKA Eau de Parfum belongs to bergamot. Its citrus freshness feels clear and radiant, yet it also carries a slightly green, aromatic quality. It evokes an open horizon and gives the composition the brightness of a journey just beginning.
ITHAKA is far removed from a conventional fresh citrus fragrance. Beneath the bergamot, mineral, floral and resinous nuances quickly begin to emerge. The freshness is only the point of departure – the first step on a path that reveals its character gradually.
Watery magnolia and incense
At the heart, watery magnolia meets incense. Magnolia introduces a transparent, softly floral freshness that feels almost like light moving across water. Its airy quality contrasts with the dry, resinous and meditative depth of incense.
This contrast defines Mendittorosa ITHAKA. The floral aspect remains clear and weightless, while incense gives the fragrance a more contemplative dimension. The result is not an opulent floral composition, but an atmospheric heart shaped by openness, stillness and movement.
Patchouli, labdanum and dry woods
As Mendittorosa ITHAKA Eau de Parfum develops, it becomes earthier and warmer. Patchouli adds a darker, slightly damp depth, while labdanum brings balsamic and amber-like warmth. Incense resinoid continues the resinous signature of the heart and links it directly to the base.
Virginia cedarwood adds dry, clean woodiness, while cypriol contributes earthy, smoky and root-like nuances. Benzoin rounds out the composition with gentle balsamic warmth. ITHAKA therefore evolves from radiant freshness through transparent florals and incense into a calm, deep base of earth, resins and woods.
Camille Chemardin and Stefania Squeglia
Mendittorosa ITHAKA Eau de Parfum was created by perfumer Camille Chemardin from the creative concept of Stefania Squeglia. The composition combines bergamot, watery magnolia, incense, patchouli, labdanum, incense resinoid, Virginia cedarwood, cypriol and benzoin into a citrus, floral, resinous, woody and earthy fragrance profile.
With a concentration of 20% Eau de Parfum, Mendittorosa ITHAKA has a distinctive and long-lasting presence while retaining its transparency. The design follows the same poetic idea: the handcrafted wooden cap and individually finished plaque carry the symbol of a small boat at sea, representing travel and departure.
