LAVS is the beginning. The first fragrance of the UNUM house, born of incense, silence, and the desire to make the invisible tangible. The name stands for Laboratorio Atelier Vesti Sacre – the sacred vestment atelier where Filippo Sorcinelli, together with Marcello, crafted liturgical garments worn by popes and clergy alike. These robes carry more than fabric – they embody devotion, craftsmanship and sanctity. To fill the space between matter and meaning, Filippo began to scent the garments. LAVS was never meant for the skin; it began as a benediction for space. But that was only the beginning.

Incense at the center – brightness, shadow and breath

At its core, LAVS is incense in its purest form – luminous, smoky, resonant. It is not alone, yet it dominates. Elemi resin brings clarity and brightness, opening the composition like a shaft of light. Black pepper and cardamom add tension and warmth. Clove and coriander give structure and pulse, anchoring the blend with sacred rhythm. A trace of jasmine flickers at the edge, ephemeral and ethereal. The incense rises like smoke from altar stone, textured and moving, but never heavy – ritual without weight, presence without pressure.

Sacred resins, woods and the echo of devotion

In the drydown, opoponax unfolds in gentle, balsamic waves, joined by labdanum, oakmoss, and a subtle trace of rosewood. These notes echo time-worn chapels, ancient rituals and the scent of centuries. Amber and tonka bean soften the conclusion with golden warmth – a final gesture of peace and gravity.
