Created in 2015 by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, PALISSANDRE D’OR reflects his guiding principles: fluidity, transparency, and expressive power. Morillas – the first perfumer to receive the Fragrance Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award – blends the artistry of traditional natural extractions with groundbreaking, self‑developed molecules. Working closely with Aedes de Venustas founders Robert Gerstner and Karl Bradl, he has crafted a scent that embodies the spiritual warmth and mystery of an imaginary rosewood.
A Symphony of Spices, Woods, and Sensual Warmth
The opening sparkles with the piquant freshness of pink pepper, coriander, and nutmeg, refined by a hint of cinnamon and the musky luminosity of ambrette. At the heart lies the fragrance’s precious secret: rare Sri Lankan sandalwood with its creamy, smoky, rose‑tinged elegance. It is softly wrapped in copahu balsam, silky patchouli, and the golden warmth of ambroxan, evoking sun‑kissed bark and glowing skin.
The base is built on a noble trio of cedarwoods: bright Virginia cedar for clarity, Chinese cedar with refined lapsang‑souchong tea nuances for sophistication, and Alaska cedar with a touch of smoky Russian leather for depth.
