Behind the Fragrance

Thomas de Monaco - RAW GOLD - Extrait de Parfum

In 2020, Thomas de Monaco launched Raw Gold Extrait in a limited edition of 1400 numbered bottles. Three years later, this soft and pudgy creation, with notes of honey and beeswax, is back in a reformulated version. The fragrance opens with notes of plum liqueur, coffee, smoky vetiver and black pepper. The heart evokes rich, violet lipstick and warm wild leather. Balsamic notes finish with a touch of patchouli and saffron.

Thomas de Monaco's Raw Gold Extrait is a fragrance with a characteristic and complex olfactory profile. It is one of those special creations that can be worn by both men and women. The fragrance is a blend of sweet almond, intense coffee, smoky vetiver and black pepper, which create a powerful head note. The heart is dominated by bold accents of warm leather, wild leather and a hint of lipstick. In the base, balsamic elements of tonka bean, zibet and patchouli are joined by the exotic notes of opoponax, reminiscent of dark honey. This melange of delicious scents envelops you in a soft blanket of softness.

Raw Gold Extrait took three years to create, with particular attention paid to the maturation of over sixty different ingredients, including a patchouli that had been stored for over twenty years. This lengthy process allows the aromas to fully develop, creating a unique fragrance experience. The patchouli in Thomas de Monaco's Raw Gold Extrait, aged for over 20 years, is a particularly interesting aspect of this fragrance. Known for its intense, earthy scent, patchouli is often used in perfumery. The age of the patchouli has a significant impact on the olfactory profile. Long-term storage produces a richer and deeper fragrance, which is softer and milder than fresh patchouli. The long ageing of Patchouli for Raw Gold Extrait allows the aromas to fully develop, creating a complex, nuanced base that defines the character of the fragrance.

Quote from Thomas de Monaco, the creator of Raw Gold Extrait:

That time between innocence and guilt when the boundaries between desire and love dissolve in a seductive way. With the heart's cry for freedom and a character as unpolished as raw gold.

THOMAS DE MONACO – Where Perfume Becomes Emotion and Art

THOMAS DE MONACO is a luxury fragrance house born from the artistic vision of Zurich-based photographer and creative director Thomas De Monaco. With a background in high-end visual storytelling for brands like Hermès and Dior, he brings a distinct aesthetic and emotional depth to the world of perfumery. His scents are more than fragrances – they are sensory portraits of memory, mood, and meaning.

Each creation – from the raw sensuality of Raw Gold (crafted by Maurus Bachmann) to the sun-drenched Sol Salgado, the futuristic warmth of Fuego Futuro, and the radiant elegance of Eau Coeur and Grand Beau – invites the wearer into an intimate dialogue between skin and story. These perfumes are layered, long-lasting, and rich in rare, high-quality ingredients.

Produced in small batches in a historic Zurich atelier built by Gustave Eiffel, Thomas De Monaco's fragrances reflect a commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and artistic autonomy. This is perfumery for those who seek substance, individuality, and soulful luxury.

At scent amor, your curated destination for niche fragrance, we present the singular olfactory works of THOMAS DE MONACO – perfumes that go beyond scent to become living memories.
