A perfumer against the old order

This developed into the brand's basic principle: the Molecule fragrances show the respective material almost naked, while the Escentric fragrances provide an olfactory interpretation of the same molecule.
The molecules as protagonists
After Iso E Super, more fragrance molecules followed, and with them, further chapters of a new fragrance aesthetic. Molecule 02 focuses on Ambroxan, a modern, clear, ambery structure with mineral freshness and long-lasting presence. Molecule 03 is dedicated to Vetiveryl Acetate, an elegant, drier, and more transparent vetiver facet. Molecule 04 puts Javanol at the center, an extremely powerful sandalwood fragrance material with creamy, radiant depth. Molecule 05 relies on Cashmeran, soft, woody, musky, warm, and at the same time urban.
With this, Geza Schön did not simply create a collection, but an olfactory lesson. He shows that modern synthetic raw materials are not the adversaries of natural perfumery, but possess their own personalities. This is precisely where his importance for niche perfumery lies: he has given the synthetic fragrance material a stage without hiding it behind romantic images of nature.
Berlin, London, and a contemporary fragrance culture
Geza Schön is closely associated with Berlin, while Escentric Molecules was established as an independent brand from London. This mix suits his work: Berlin directness, London design culture, electronic music, art, architecture, fashion, and a certain aversion to anything too agreeable. Escentric Molecules doesn't smell like classic luxury. It smells like the present, like reduction, like skin, like space, like movement.
Precisely for this reason, the brand became for many people an entry point into the world of modern niche fragrances. It is uncomplicated to wear, yet conceptually sophisticated. Works for Ormonde Jayne, Biehl, and other houses
In addition to Escentric Molecules, Geza Schön has also worked for other houses. Particularly important are his early and influential works for Ormonde Jayne, including compositions that still define the brand's character today. His contributions to Biehl Parfumkunstwerke also show his reductionist approach: clear structures, high-quality raw materials, modern sensuality, and the courage to build fragrance not according to traditional expectations. Biehl aptly describes his style as revolutionary, minimalist, rebellious, and sensual.
These works show that Geza Schön should not be reduced to a single concept. He is not just the man behind Molecule 01. He is a perfumer who thinks differently about raw materials, reduces formulas to the essential, and yet creates an emotional impact. That is precisely what distinguishes minimalism from simplification: for him, less is not less expression, but more concentration.
