Aromas of childhood, logic of wine
Born and raised in the Champagne, with a renowned chef as a father, learns Claire Liégent early on, how smells form memories. Early contact with champagne and wine leads her to study Oenology – an analytical look at fragrance, texture and maturity, which later artistic fragrance composition shapes.
From a random note to a life path
A newspaper article shows her the way to a perfume fair where she met Jean-Paul Guerlain. This first encounter sowed the seed: in 2007, Claire enrolled at the ISIPCA in Versailles and completed an apprenticeship at Symrise – Craftsmanship, methodology, raw materials.
School of Precision: Symrise, IFF and Great Mentors
After graduation, she moved to IFF Paris and worked for two years with Pierre Wargnye. An internal selection process opens the next door: a four-year training course to become a Master Perfumer under the supervision of Dominique Ropion. Station by station, her handwriting becomes more and more concentrated – precise, sensorially clear, with the quiet tension that Niche perfume so special.
Entrepreneurial spirit in Paris
In 2012, Claire and her partners founded the Parisian niche fragrance house NOSE – a curated place for modern Niche fragrances, conversations, and discoveries. This is where market insight, expertise, and curiosity converge.
Present with Takasago
Since 2023, Claire has been composing for Takasago Fine Fragrances. She combines classical knowledge with a touch of boldness, technical perfection with aesthetic formulation. She selects ingredients as in haute cuisine: precise, seasonal, balanced, and textured modern unisex niche fragrances that shine without being overpowering and linger for a long time.
Signature: Between studio and wine cellar
Claire's perfumes exude structure like a great wine: clarity on the nose, body on the skin, a finish that holds the space. Her compositions are both an invitation and a statement of attitude—sensual, intelligent, uncompromising in quality.
